Poetry meets tech: apps for your mobile device | Library as Incubator Project

Here’s a great review of three different poetry apps for SmartPhones posted on the Library as Incubator Project website during National Poetry Month: Poetry meets tech: apps for your mobile device | Library as Incubator Project

The review covers three FREE apps available for download, each with different functions:

  • Poem Flow from American Academy of Poets
  • POETRY app from the Poetry Foundation
  • Verses Poetry Creator from Tiny Mobile, Inc.

If you’ve got Teens at your library who are into reading and writing poetry, these apps offer two great perks:

  1. They’re fun to introduce to poetry lovers and to play around with.  They’re easy to install, FREE, and intuitive to use.
  2. They’re an easy way to get familiar with poetry if you’re not a poetry person, and yet have to field poetry questions at the desk.  You can read a variety of poems on the bus or waiting in line at stores so it won’t intrude on your day!

Check out the reviews linked above, and try these out with tech-savvy teens.
